Frequently Asked Questions
.
1.    What is the iGen teen leadership academy?

It is a program to disciple and mentor teens that are committed to the Lord. It is an attempt to challenge youth to make a difference.

2.    Why should I join?

You should join if you as a teen are looking to do something great for God. You will be challenged and given opportunities to grow as a Christian, a disciple and a leader. In addition you will have access to free trips, training and resources that no one else has.

3.    What will you do if you become apart of this Leadership academy?

You will be trained to start and lead ministries as well as community service projects in your church and community. Therefore you will lead others, start new and exciting ventures and touch the lives of others. Now you’ve got to stay a part of iGen for two years and commit to constant growth but there are really good benefits that go along.

4.    What will I gain personally from being apart of this group?

The short answer would be a closer walk with the Lord. If you are already a teen on fire for the Lord this is what may be considered the next step – a challenge to do something big for Christ.

You also get to go on a free domestic mission trip in the summer. Yes I said free (no you don’t have to sell candy, write letters or ask for a special offering). In addition you get free books, a mentor and an opportunity to make a difference.

5.    How will others (other youth, church etc.) that aren't apart of this group benefit?

We expect when you are trained you will be an influence on your peers. A part of this program is that you have to share what you learn with other teens at your church and school. They may not go on the trip but you can bring home a lot of the things you have learned to them so they can be challenged as well.

6.    What is the purpose of the application process? How will you be selecting people?

Well we are only selecting teens that are in a committed relationship with the Lord into iGen. This is not a group for everyone. The application process is to ensure that you are serious about the things we are looking for and are committed to the growth process.

Now out of all who apply, only those who meet the requirements will be accepted. Of those accepted, only 25 will be selected to go on the domestic mission trip this summer from June 20 – 27.

When all the applications are received by the deadline of April 30, 2009 then a group of four of us will evaluate them, interview and prayerful select the teens for iGen.

7.    Will this group of High School students do anything together...like mission trip, etc?

Well as you heard above, there will be a free domestic mission trip this summer. During that trip we will be engaged in home renovation, working with those who are in need and organizing and running a community children’s program. In addition there will be a whole day of just fun and recreation (shhh don’t tell anyone. Mission trips aren’t supposed to be this much fun). Some great pastors and leaders (Pastors Donald Rolle, Lester Collins, Darriel Hoy & Kymone Hinds) will be there to help train and mentor you.

In addition there will be other times where these teens come together via conference calls and other retreats and meetings. We will change tomorrow!
