3 New Year's Resolutions worth keeping

Nurture
Acts 1:8

God's Promise

"You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has come..."

They were awed by His acts and astounded when He declared "Greater works you will do than I have done."  John 14:12.  The work of Jesus was characterized by divine power.  So in Acts 1 Jesus promises "you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me."

He came to this planet to die for you and me to have a shot at eternal life.  Not only that but while we are here He wants to give us something that can make a world of difference.  The only caveate is that you must pray for it and ask God to give it to you.  Are you willing to take the plunge into a spiritual life that is extraordinary?

Excerpted from our first ever conference devotional wriiten by CSC Pastors and Administrators.  Above thought taken from Dr Charles Drake's devotional.

Stewardship
Habbakuk 2:3

of True Power

"Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

The disciples were told to wait for the Holy Spirit.  Who has time to wait for something we have never seen or heard of?  Who has time to waste waiting and Jesus is nowhere to be found?  What would you do if Jesus left you and told you to wait?  Have you ever had to wait on something?

These days of preparation were days of deep heart searching.  The disciples felt their soiritual need and cried to the Lord for the holy unction that was to fit them for the work of soul saving.  they did not ask for a blessing for themselves merely.  They were weighted with the burden of the salvation of souls.  They realized that the gospel was to be carried to the world, and they claimed the power of the Holy Spirit." (Acts of the Apostles, p 37) .  Excerpted from the CSC Devotional by Tanya Anderson.

Stewardship is not all about money but a lifestyle. What are you doing as a steward of the time God has given upon this earth? Think about it and adjust your time if necessary, accordingly then drop us a note on FB or an email.

To Keep it moving

"the harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few."

When Jesus comes will you be ready?  Do you know if your loved ones or friends will be ready?  Do you even care if they are ready?

There are some people in your sphere of influence who are watching you and want to know more about you.  They may be your neighbors who see you leave ever Sabbath morning for church all dressed to impress.  It may be a relative who comes to you for advice and counsel.

Don't focus your energy on those who won't even consider what you are saying (although you must keep them in your prayers).  There are so many people out there who will listen, who want something better, who will give Jesus a chance.  How will you reach them?

God has already promised an increase if we try.  You want read more about this keep up with the CSC Devotional and watch God do the extraordinary in your life.
